Yes. The program is based in Lisbon and requires the presence of at least two team members.
We can support travel and accommodation up to 1000€ per international startup but there is a pending minimum presence requirement.

Before you join Lisbon Challenge, you will have to sign a side letter in which you agree with the possibility of investment of 50k€ Convertible Note.
Yes. A minimum of 2 team members are expected to enroll the program in full time for the entire duration of Lisbon Challenge. The load of workshops, mentorship sessions and talks varies along the phases of the program. Team members are expected to make the Lisbon Challenge office co-working space, their full-time working place from 08 am to 22 pm on week days.
There are four key aspects that render the Lisbon Challenge different from other acceleration programs:
- No equity taken – Keep full ownership & control of your business.
- Lisbon based – where Web Summit will be hosted for the next 2 years
- Multi-Sector – Tech startups from all sectors.
- Hands-on - Mentoring on Product, Tech, Growth & Investment.
Lisbon Challenge activities will take place at Beta-i’s office in Lisbon.
All activities will be conducted in English.

You will need to provide a company profile, a business summary, a short video presenting the opportunity and traction so far and a statement of your objectives for the Lisbon Challenge. The more information you provide about your startup, the better.

The results of the selection process will be disclosed up to 1 month after the applications deadline.
If it’s still before the final deadline, you can log-in and use the updates field to provide details about changes, your progress, and new video URLs. These will be considered along with your application. If you have to make major changes in your application or alter crucial fields, such as your city or team, you should contact [email protected] with details.

We want to know about your execution capabilities and creativity. We are specifically asking for accomplishments NOT related to your startup. So be creative.
Within the word limit we provide for some questions, make sure you write the necessary amount to demonstrate the true value of your project.
The standard fee for registration in Lisbon Challenge is 200€ per person.
Startups that apply before the first deadline will have a 25% discount on the registration fee per participant (150€).
For any changes of team members during the program, there is a cost of 100€ per change.
Note that this fee only apply to accepted startups. There are no application fees.
Lisbon Challenge is an international startup acceleration program that runs over the course of 10 weeks in Lisbon.
The program will select up to 20 teams who will have access to a network of more than 200 international mentors and investors, as well as up to 150k€ in perks (Google, Amazon, Microsoft and many more) to advance their projects and internationalize.
Selected startups are required to be in Lisbon for 10 weeks, where they will share a free co-working space.
Lisbon Challenge is organized by Beta-i, a non-profit association based in Lisbon.
Beta-i is a non-profit association, founded in 2010 and dedicated to innovating entrepreneurship in Portugal.
The primary mission of Beta-i is to contribute to the creation of innovative successful global startups that solve real problems in a sustainable way.
At least 2 members of your team should officially participate in Lisbon Challenge.
If you want to add or swap a member during the program, you need to confirm with the Lisbon Challenge staff first.
The criteria are as follows:

- Ambition and project scalability
We are looking for hard working, committed and collaborative people, characteristics that should be consistent throughout the application.
The acceleration program is specifically designed for tech startups in product, service or prototype phase wanting to internationalize.
Our target startups are all technology-based projects serving any industry.
In order to be eligible to apply, you must have at least 50% of tech founders.
