Spring is coming - Meet the 1st startups

We’ve been through hundreds of applications for the Lisbon Challenge Spring’15, but in the end it all comes down to this: who is joining Europe’s most international accelerator? After going through every single application and interviewing the teams, we got to a short list of promising startups. Now it’s time to share it with the world. From an online community for extreme sports to a device which can measure how much your fridge or washing machine is spending in electricity, this edition will be full of surprises.

Here are the first 12 startups joining Lisbon Challenge Spring’15!

PakketMail - Simplifying shipping logistics for online businesses

PakketMail is a startup who wants to solve the problem that many online businesses have, which is to sort out the logistics of shipping items to their customers. This startup coming from the Netherlands has a multi-carrier shipping software combined with discounts on shipping rates from renowned carriers.

Chooos - The easiest way to sell on Facebook

Chooos is a self-promoting web store that integrates with any Facebook page. This Ukranian startup can easily import a web store and add your merchandise on Facebook. With Chooos you can also add promotional tools and access detailed analytics in order to effectively sell on Facebook.

LEAP - An online community for extreme sports

Coming from Bulgaria we have LEAP, an online community for extreme sports. With LEAP you can share and discover the best of extreme sports within a community of athletes and adventurers.

EGGY - Saving energy by tracking electrical devices

EGGY is a Portuguese startup that has developed an egg shaped device that allows you to track how much energy your electrical devices are using. You can place the egg in your fridge or washing machine and it will measure consumption and give you suggestions so that you can save energy and money. All the data is stored in their online platform.

Dayafterday - Explore and follow feeds that matter to you

Dayafterday is a UK based startup that allows you to discover, collect and follow content you like. Through their platform you can collect news, videos, photos and sounds from many sources like Soundcloud, Instagram, Tumblr or Youtube. The founders of Dayafterday are the same founders of Mougli, our alumni from Lisbon Challenge Spring’14, so welcome back!

Seeusoon - Get to your better half

Long distance relationships are difficult and couples end up spending a lot of time and money when travelling to meet their better half. Seeusoon, a startup from Spain, is here to change it and make it easier. With an online platform Seeusoon gives you the best travelling deals so that you can meet your loved ones where they live or somewhere along the way.

DESCOLA - Online courses from students to students

Coming from Brazil, we have a startup called DESCOLA, which has a platform for online courses created by students and for students. Their aim is to change the whole learning experience and let students access videos, reports and interact with others within their online platform.

Vet App - Keep you updated on your pet’s health

Vet App is a Portuguese startup that has a mobile app for veterinarians and pet owners. It allows veterinarians to connect and interact with pet owners keeping them updated on their pets’ health.

Greenely - See your energy usage in a mobile app

Greenely wants to help you with your energy consumption through the mobile app they developed. This Sweedish startup lets you keep track of your energy consumption by processing temperature prognosis, household conditions and historical trends with big data algorithms.

Baubnb - Find the perfect place for your pet’s vacation

As the name suggests, this startup coming from Spain, is the airbnb for pets. Through Baubnb you can easily find a place for your pet to stay when you’re away on vacation. You can either be a host and take care of someone else’s pet or choose the host for your pet to enjoy the holiday.

StudyQA - make smart decisions when going to university

StudyQA helps young students choose their universities and courses according to their interests, personality and academic background. Their online platform lets student search for the best universities and apply to the courses they want while getting all the information they need to make smarter decisions.

Legal Flow - helping lawyers manage their legal processes

Legal Flow is a Portuguese startup who wants to help lawyers manage their legal processes efficiently. They have built an online platform so that lawyers can add the details of their legal processes, manage their team’s tasks accordingly and have a more efficient work flow.
