B-Guest, a startup focussed on developing an intelligent concierge to help hotel guests during their stay, has closed an investment round with Portugal Ventures. The promising young company that has been through Lisbon Challenge last year is now aiming at optimizing their product and international expansion. It’s fair to say: From Lisbon to the world! And of course, we’re all feeling proud for this hard-working team.
B-guest offers a quite useful service and it’s no wonder that they ended up partnering with our friends from Portugal Ventures. They have built a mobile application that allows hotel guests to easily order room service, book a restaurant or ask for a taxi. Meanwhile, the hotels can provide a more personal experience by targeting specific customers with their own services. All this is only possible because they have an algorithm that suggests to each hotel guest services according to the their profile, travelling details, time of the day and weather conditions for example. An interesting product created by 4 co-founders who are now raising the bar in order to grow as fast as they can, as any startup should.
Their CEO, José Vieira Marques, who we know so well from Lisbon Challenge, has told us that this investment from Portugal Ventures will help B-Guest “accelerate the development of our product and it will help in terms of networking as well as accessing other potential investors for the next round.” With this investment B-Guest expects to expand to 5 more markets besides Portugal in the upcoming year and partner with major hotel chains so that they can truly become a global startup.
