Twenty five startups finalists of the Lisbon Challenge, Europe’s biggest acceleration program organized by Beta-i, have pitched investors all over the world at the first Investors Day, that took place during the Explorers Festival, on the 7th of November, in Lisbon.
The top 25 finalists are:

GapJumpers: A tool for industry experts to spot the best brains for their teams and avoid bad hires.
GLEAN: Web and mobile app for social performance management to foster personal and organizational development.
Gudgo: Workout anywhere in the world, in any gym, for short periods of time without the need of a commitment.
Limetree: An organized and safe way to store your children´s moments online.
Lutebox: The fastest way to share a moment with friends and then chat over it.
Monitor Backlinks: Marketeer tool to achieve better rankings on Google and get more traffic for companies or their clients.
Mint Labs: A remote advanced medical imaging analysis and visualization platform.
MyChild: A parent engagement and learning management system that helps Day Care Centers and Preschools focus on child development instead of paperwork.
MYGON: A free app that allows users to discover real time information such as last minute deals to enjoy immediately, reviews and pricing menus of local merchants.
Orankl: A reviews platform that allows any online store to have a fully featured, customizable, and manageable review system with the minimal amount of effort.
PETsys: Specific technology based in current PET scans that allows early cancer detection with higher resolution.
Pictastik: Share and discover the world through real-time photos and recommendations.
Splinter.me: Substituting expensive headhunters with a real-time matchmaking online service.
Stuffle: A flea-market or garage sale on your iPhone.
TUIZZI.com: Similar to Booking.com but for the Out-Of-Home advertising industry.
Vertequip: Innovative technologies and equipments to work at heights in a safer, cheaper and more productive way.
Vitalidi: A low-cost toolkit allowing anyone to create projects & applications with physiological sensors.
WannaPlayer: It´s LinkedIn, but for Football (soccer).
WHALE: Advanced tools allowing brands to better manage and track their social audience over any of their digital domains.
Wizdee: “Discovery” is a self-service data analysis and exploration solution for business users.
YDreamsRobotics: This is spin-off company, specializing in robotics and mechatronics.
The entrepreneurs presented their projects to global investors, such as Index Ventures, 500 Startups, Martim Cabiedes, EC1Capital, or DFJesprit, Blumberg Capital, Caixa Capital, ES Capital, Portugal Ventures, among many others. They were also evaluated by a jury composed by international experts such as Gerald Heydenreich (CEO at OmnisMundi), Bjoern Lasse Herrmann (CEO at Startup Compass), or Rui Pereira (Co-founder of Outsystems).
Since the 28th of August, the 74 startups were given over 900 hours of training, around 60 workshops and several mentoring sessions with global professionals (including experts from Google, PayPal, Softlayer, SAGE, Portugal Telecom, Seedcamp and many others) as part of the Lisbon Challenge acceleration program. Only 10 startups will be selected of the total 25 finalists. These will have the opportunity to pitch investors in London, New York and São Paulo. On top of this opportunity, there are many other prizes: in all there is a money prize of 150 thousand euro (no strings attached) and around three million euro in services, such as 30 years of free office facilities offered by the Lisbon City Council.
Lisbon Challenge is a transatlantic acceleration program targeting developing startups, aiming to promote their growth, internationalization, and short-term financing. During this edition, the program received about 500 applications, 40% of which international.
