Monica is a Portuguese qualified Lawyer and a Registered European Lawyer working in London, in a city law firm, assisting clients with the most varied data protection issues, both in Portugal and the UK.
She regularly assists clients in preparing and submitting registrations and requests for authorisation with data protection authorities around the world, analysing processor / controller agreements - including preliminary due diligence procedures –, and managing trans border flows of personal data.
Monica also regularly advises on subject access requests and other data protection related requests.
Monica’s work focusses mainly in working with clients in managing global data protection and E-Privacy compliance projects, providing data protection training, and drafting data protection policies and procedures.
Monica is a regular speaker on data protection events, both in the UK and in Portugal, and whether organised by Speechly or not, including the 2013 Privacy and Data Protection Conference in London and previous workshops with the Beta-I Association both in Lisbon and in London, and also contributes regularly to internal and external publications, including the PDP journal.
